The initiative also establishes an analytical and policy enforcement layer specifically designed to manage AI training data across multiple organizations. Challenges in tracking changes and verifying output results will be addressed through blockchain utilization to record every alteration, thereby minimizing intellectual property risks and unauthorized data sharing.
Mrinal Manohar, CEO at Casper Labs, pointed out that “Today’s AI systems are black boxes, making it difficult to ascertain the origins of training data or how specific data points affect outcomes. This poses challenges when AI models begin to exhibit bias or propagate misinformation.”
Casper Labs’ solution is built on Casper Blockchain, integrated with IBM watsonx.governance and watsonx.ai to monitor and measure input and output data. Blockchain serves as an immutable ledger, recording all transactions and changes throughout the AI training process, ensuring maximum transparency and auditability.
The collaboration between technology experts and AI management consultants from IBM Consulting and Casper Labs will lead to the development of this solution, with beta testing planned for Q3 2024. This solution will be widely available through IBM Cloud Marketplace and promises to benefit companies across various industries such as financial services, healthcare, and retail, enabling them to deploy AI responsibly.
The solution’s trial run will be showcased at Davos on Tuesday, the 16th of January, where leaders from Casper Labs and IBM Consulting will provide an in-depth insight into the workings of this technology in a special session.
