Weekly newsletter | 8-14 Sep 2025

The crypto market ended the week on a cautious note despite bullish signals: the Altcoin Season Index hit an all-time high of 82 and Bitcoin traded at $115,000, yet overall momentum remained muted.

Story Protocol Unveils IP Vault

Story Protocol has introduced IP Vault, a secure on-chain framework for managing high-value intellectual property as the digital asset landscape expands beyond traditional copyrights and patents. Built on Story’s Layer 1 blockchain for programmable IP, IP Vault stores encryption keys on-chain while hosting files on decentralized storage solutions.

By leveraging Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and multi-party computation, the system enables fine-grained, programmable access rules, ensuring sensitive content such as genomic data, AI training datasets, and unreleased creative works can be licensed and accessed without exposing raw files.

The protocol’s conditional decryption feature opens the door for time-based, usage-based, and software-specific access controls, providing a new security layer for industries ranging from healthcare to entertainment. Projects like Poseidon, Aria, and Genobank are already adopting IP Vault to monetize AI datasets, secure music masters, and protect genomic data. A Dev Network launch is planned for later this year, with testnet and mainnet releases expected in 2026, positioning Story as a key infrastructure provider for secure, programmable IP.

Somnia Network Surpasses 113M Transactions

Somnia Network has reached a milestone of 113 million transactions, reflecting a sharp rise in both transaction count and active addresses. However, analysts note that much of this activity is fueled by ongoing airdrop incentives, raising concerns that transaction volume could plummet once reward distributions end.

The project’s long-term growth will hinge on its ability to retain users post-airdrop and deliver meaningful gaming and content applications within its ecosystem. While the current surge highlights the network’s technical capacity, it also underscores a broader challenge for emerging blockchains: turning short-term incentive-driven engagement into sustainable adoption.

Casper CTO Meets With SEC to Discuss Crypto Regulation

Casper Network’s CTO held a meeting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) this week to discuss the current state of cryptocurrency regulations, innovation opportunities, and Casper’s role in fostering blockchain adoption. The discussion also highlighted the SEC’s evolving approach to digital asset oversight under Commissioner Paul Atkins.

The engagement reflects a broader trend of collaboration between blockchain projects and U.S. regulators as the industry seeks clearer regulatory frameworks to support growth. Casper Network’s leadership emphasized its commitment to advancing enterprise-grade blockchain solutions while contributing to regulatory dialogue shaping the future of the sector.

0G Labs Teases Mainnet Launch and Potential Airdrop

0G Labs has hinted at its upcoming mainnet launch, called Aristotle, signaling a major step forward for the modular AI-focused blockchain project. The announcement follows months of development around 0G’s decentralized compute and data availability layers, positioning Aristotle as a pivotal release for scaling AI workloads on-chain.

The team’s teaser has also fueled speculation about a token airdrop to reward early adopters and ecosystem participants. While details remain scarce, the campaign underscores growing momentum in the modular blockchain sector as 0G prepares to transition from testnet to a production-ready network.
